Good, Sorta Bad News

Hello blogsphere!  Just checking in and sharing some info.

The husband told me a couple of days ago that there is a chance that he might be sent to another school after finishing the one for Field Radio Operator. I think he called it MIAC, but its hard to understand him over the phone sometimes. Especially when he starts talking in acronyms.

Apparently this "MIAC" thing has to do with satellites and programming. Which is good news, because it means that my husband would be placed in a support battalion, instead of an infantry unit. The bad part is that this school would be another two months at Twenty Nine Palms. If my husband gets chosen for this school, he wont see our son until he is seven months old.

So we discussed the option of me moving down there on my own dime, but the cost/benefit ratio just wasnt cutting it. It would have eaten up all of our savings.

Danny talked to his Ssgt and according to him, if Danny were going to be chosen, he would probably already know. So there is a chance he will be picked and a chance he wont be.

I told Danny that if I was going to be trapped here for another four months, we are buying a damn car. I refuse to be vehicle-less in the winter in this awful snow filled place. So we are now in the process of looking for a vehicle that we wont have to break the bank for. I loooove the Nissan Murano and the Honda CR-V, while danny is trying to talk me into teensy little sedans that wouldnt fit a stroller. I will have the final say in this; im the one who will be driving it on a daily basis, so it has to work for me, not make him look cool.
